I'm a big fan of chromebooks. I am able to do software development offline in linux with no problem which I cannot imagine pulling off on an ipad, and I like the simplicity and security. Yes, Google does collect data as do the phones we all carry - that's a tradeoff I'm willing to make. The subhead "useless without a reliable internet connection" is simply not true.
