I totally agree. Although I much prefer NOT using scss and using the new css custom properties. Also, I try to NOT use any classes and be purely semantic, as that leads to a more consistent style. I was intrigued, however, to find picocss.com which is a classless css file that pretty much matches what I was doing anyway. I've not really used it though - so far I prefer my own css.
